Miss SAKE Hosts a Health Day — at a Shrine
KAMPAI Editorial
Miss SAKE, the organization that selects ambassadors for Japanese sake and culture, is hosting a health-focused event on April 19, 2026, at EDOCCO STUDIO inside the Kanda Myojin shrine complex in Tokyo. Titled "A Day to Know Your Body," the event is a special session within the Nadeshiko Program — a training curriculum for Miss SAKE finalists.
More Than a Pageant
Founded in 2013, Miss SAKE conducts over 400 outreach activities a year and is expanding internationally, with contests planned in India, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau, and Azerbaijan in 2026. The Nadeshiko Program covers far more than sake knowledge — finalists study Japanese culture, communication, and now, personal health.
A "Health Room" with Body Composition Checks
The day will include lectures by an OB-GYN, nutrition consultants, and health researchers, along with a hands-on "health room" where participants can measure body fat, BMI, and muscle mass. Speakers include Dr. Meika Uchida (OB-GYN) and Momo Hosokawa, a preventive medicine and nutrition consultant who heads the Luvtelli organization.

Sake ambassadors getting their body composition measured at a shrine might sound unusual, but there's a certain logic to it: people who represent a culture starting by understanding themselves.
